Better Together: Privacy
What the app stores
Your optional profile name, tasks, selected photos, comments, rewards and balances are saved on your device. When you connect with a partner, this information is also stored in a private shared space using Apple’s iCloud. Your invited partner can access and change that space. Your relationship label stays on your device.
Photos and safety
Camera access is used when you choose to take a photo. You select which library photos to add. Photo checks use Apple’s on-device Sensitive Content Analysis when enabled and available; photos are not sent to an external moderation service. These checks are not available when the system disables them and do not detect every kind of harmful content. A basic text filter runs locally.
Notifications
Notifications are optional and can be controlled in the app and iPhone Settings. The app uses Apple notification services and generic messages that omit task titles, comments and photos.
Sharing and blocking
Blocking pauses this phone and asks iCloud to end sharing. It takes effect remotely when iCloud confirms it. A private block list of CloudKit user identifiers is stored in your own iCloud account and checked by this app before reconnecting. New QR invitations are disabled when that account has blocked partners; use an invitation restricted to an Apple Account email instead. A protected local backup is retained after blocking. Copies saved by another person cannot be removed remotely.
Removing data
Safety & data controls let the owner delete the current iCloud shared space and erase the app’s local data and backups. An invited participant can leave and erase local data, but the owner’s copy remains. Offline requests are retained and retry when the app is open. Files exported elsewhere, saved Photos images, device backups, private block records and other people’s copies are not erased by these controls. Disconnected spaces must be recovered before they can be managed. Deleting the app alone does not delete iCloud data.
App updates
Version 0.1.0 build 14 and later do not automatically contact our website or query the App Store to check for updates. Install updates through the App Store or TestFlight. Earlier test builds contacted causewecan.dev for update information and Apple’s App Store for availability; those requests exposed normal connection information, such as an IP address, but did not include shared content or partner details. Opening website links yourself also connects to the website’s hosting service.
Support and reports
If you email the developer, your address, message and any attachments you choose are received to handle your request. The app never attaches private photos or history automatically. The developer cannot browse your private shared space or moderate it remotely. Contact us to request deletion of support correspondence. We check reports daily and aim to respond within 48 hours. Resolved correspondence is deleted after 90 days unless needed to address an ongoing issue or meet a legal obligation.
Tracking
The app includes no advertising, tracking or analytics SDK. Apple operates iCloud, notifications and device backups under your Apple Account settings and Apple’s policies.
